Tether, the issuer of USDT, ranks among the top corporate Bitcoin holders worldwide as of May 2026, holding roughly 0.46% of total BTC supply. The position was accumulated under a 2023 policy directing up to 15% of quarterly net profits into Bitcoin. Tether also controls NYSE-listed treasury firm Twenty One Capital — extending from passive holder to active crypto-infrastructure builder.
